Adding & Managing Domains

Adding Domains

On this page you will find tutorials/guides to help with adding, deleting, and modifing the different domain options available to you through Cpanel.

Adding a Sub-domain

Very easy to understand (comes with pictures!) and simple tutorial/guide to creating sub-domains within your Cpanel.

Of course first you will need to log into your Cpanel. On the main page you will see the link Sub-Domains under the Domains category. Click it.

Inside the Sub-domain overview page you will notice a box at the top that says Create Sub-Domain. This is the box you will be nameing your first sub-domain. I suggest making it a simple name, since this will the URL and no one really likes to write out long addresses.

After you have clicked ‘Create’ you will be taken to a confirmation page. Click the Back button at the bottom to be taken back to the main overview page.

You can then veiw, edit, or delete sub-domains you have created in the box below. Also you are able to set redirection for each sub-domain you create.

Adding Parked Domains

A parked domain is a domain that you would like to point to your root directory. An example would be your root being lightsout.com and then buying lightsout.net and lightsout.org. You would add the last two as parked domains.

Adding Add-on Domains

An add-on domain is a domain in which you would buy to point to a sub-domain within your root directory. Example would be your root is lightsout.com and you create a subdomain called blog.lightsout.com, yet you buy a domain for this sub-domain called lightsoutblog.com. You would add it to the add-on domains and have it point to blog.lightsout.com!
